Needles & Tools for Needle Felting Here you will find the Needles and Multi-Needle Tools that I find the handiest for Needle Felting. These are Tools that my Sweetie, Ed, has put together to make needle felting more comfortable to do. The knobs can be taken apart to change or remove needles so you have the option to work with more or less needles as you develop your skill and comfort level. We put together Single-Needle Tools, also for comfort as your hand can tire from holding just the bare needle.
Individual Needles are also available as you need spares or replacements. Remember....the needles are sized like wire, the higher the number....the finer the needle. So.....if you want a coarser needle punch you would select a lower number needle (36-38). If you are working on finer detailed projects....you would want a higher number needle (40).
Needle felting requires all your attention especially where your fingers are concerned. The needles are made of highly tempered steel, which means they are very sharp and brittle. Needle in and out in a straight line. Never bend the needle or use it to pick or pry with, such as to pick out straw that is in the wool - the needle will snap. When you break a needle and you will, ALWAYS find the pieces and dispose of them safely! Wearing glasses or goggles is a good idea. |
