Hello!
And Welcome to my Website!
As you've probably guessed, my name is Barbara and I work with vintage fabrics, recycling and repurposing collectible textiles into today's wearables, collectibles, cozies and needful things. Back in the day, I was co-owner of a Vintage Clothing Store called "Flashback", located in Lakewood, Ohio, and I still just love all those old fabrics. I use mainly (but not limited to) Vintage Fabrics to make just about everything in my store.....get a cup of tea (or coffee...YUM!) and sit back to browse thru my goodies!
Check out the supplies I am adding to this website plus my ebay and etsy stores. I stock stuff you might need to make your own vintage-based creations such as old wooden textile spools, watch pieces and parts, quilt pieces, chenille pieces, rusty bedsprings, wool rovings & locks, silk rods, needle felting supplies and tools, etc.
I've been doing arts and craft shows and fairs for a number of years now and just love the interaction with all the people who come to browse, shop or just look!
These are just a few pix of the shows I did in 2009 at Wellington Square in Wellington, Ohio in September and St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio in July
Yep.......that's a picture of me, not very photogenic, am I?
One of the things I do (and do very well, I might add) is take your family's handmade treasures, like embroidered runners, tablecloths....even Mom or Grandma's beloved hankies, and make them into precious pieces for your family to share. I can make pillows or angels out of old quilts, a "hanky pillow" out of old hankies and damask tablecloths, pillows or bags out of embroidered linens.....the list goes on and on. Please contact me if you have some treasured piece that you would like transformed into something that each member of your family would be able to keep and love.
I also offer Needle Felting Classes for Groups of 10 people or more.....quilters' or weavers' guilds....sewing classes....swim groups....Ladies Who Lunch.....anyone who would like to learn a new or interesting craft....very quick and easy.....it's a craft you can take anywhere. Also, it is reusing rescued wool from the thrift stores so it is recycling at its finest!
(Please email for more info....I only charge $10 per person!)
